Changing the DocSolid (Postmark) Service Account or Password
New Password Requirements
The Postmark application is based on APIV2 code which will not accept certain special characters. This is the guideline for the new password.
- Limit of 30 characters
- These special characters are allowed: ! @ % ; .
Steps
IIS
Stop IIS prior to making changes. This will help avoid any lockout issues while making these changes.
- Open IIS
- Select Application Pools
- Right click on each App Pool that has the “Identity” as the service account.
- Select “Advanced Settings…”.
- In “Process Model”.
- Select "Identity”.
- Click on the ellipses, on the right.
- “Custom Account” should be selected.
- Click on “Set…”.
- “User name”: If you are also changing the account.
- Enter: the new Domain\userName.
- “Password” and “Confirm Password”.
- Enter the new service account password.
- Click OK to close the open dialog windows.
- “User name”: If you are also changing the account.
- Click on “Set…”.
- Select "Identity”.
- In “Process Model”.
- Select “Advanced Settings…”.
- Right click on each App Pool that has the “Identity” as the service account.
Windows Services on the Application Server
You may have Postmark Services not shown in this picture, if there are any, follow the instructions below.
- Open Windows Services
- For All of the Postmark Services that has a “Status” of “Automatic”
- Double Click on each service to open the Service Properties
- Select “Log On”
- Enter the new password.
- If you are changing the Service Account
- Enter in the new Account (domain\userName) or use “Browse”.
- Click “OK”
- Select “Log On”
- Double Click on each service to open the Service Properties
- Restart all Postmark Services
- For All of the Postmark Services that has a “Status” of “Automatic”
If either of these Airmail2 Service are installed, follow the instructions above to change the service account and/or password.
Postmark Admin Client (PMKSAdmin)
- Log into PMKSAdmin using the “Administrator” account and password.
- In the Navigation Panel, on the left, Click on “AD Sync”
- Click on “Edit”
- Enter the new “Password”.
- If you are changing the “Account”
- Enter the new “Username”.
- Click “Update”
- Click “Edit”
- Click “Test / Refresh Groups” to confirm access to AD.
- If successful, the “Doman Groups” window will fill.
- Click “Cancel”
- Click on “Edit”
Mailman Engine(s)
- Open Windows Services
- Confirm that the Engine is not processing any documents.
- Stop the “Postmaster Engine Service”
- Double Click on “Postmaster Engine Service” to open the Service Properties
- Select “Log On”
- Enter the new password.
- If you are changing the Service Account
- Enter in the new Account (domain\userName) or use “Browse”.
- If you are changing the Service Account
- Enter the new password.
- Select “Log On”
- Click “OK”
- Start the “Postmaster Engine Service”
- Repeat for any additional Engines.
AFTER COMPLETING ALL OF THE ABOVE STEPS – RESTART IIS
